Monica Vandenberg: Principal
As a specialist sustainability adviser, Monica assists organisations to incorporate sustainability into their business planning processes through culture change, innovation and learning. She also works as a change agent in coordinating, implementing and evaluating projects.
Developing sustainability programs across large multi-faceted businesses requires applications that appeal to a wide range of audiences, including staff and senior management. Monica's people-centred approach focuses on successful management of the cultural change and integrated learning so necessary for sustainability programs to be truly effective.
In implementing change and facilitating performance improvements, Monica draws on extensive experience gained in working with teams, from front line to senior management.
She has worked in senior management positions in both the private and public sectors, including corporate roles with Jardine Pacific, Caltex Oil and Vic Health. She has a degree in business and has completed post graduate studies in Strategic Foresight.
Until recently she was Executive Director of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), where she was responsible for advocating ASBEC activities to all levels of government & industry; and be abreast of key legislation.
Monica co-founded the Environmentally Preferable Paper Alliance (EPPA), an alliance of corporates, small businesses, environmental groups and government agencies. This organisation developed environmentally preferred paper specifications and a Statement of Intent.She has also been a director and a director of Triple Bottom Line Australia and the Alternative Technology Association (ATA)
